Is it me (I hope so)but when you look for a particular item that you want to find on the mk1, it inevitably brings up the Mk1 Golf owners site as a topic once discussed in the results. you think "Brilliant! Just what I need to get the answer so I dont have to ask everyone and then get redirected to an old thread by the old timers!"
So click click I go……….
What does it do? Takes me to the homepage! Now where was the link discussed and showed in the results? I'm logged in so that shouldnt be an issue.
Now is this the way things are or can we do something about it?
Somebody else please try it and if you get a solution let me know.
Thanks cf_emoticons__BangHead:

I would suggest though, if there's something that comes up on a search engine that you want to look at and it sends you to the homepage just use the search facility on this site with the same keywords, should take you to what you want. Make sure you set the search period to N/A and that will bring up all results ever posted.
Hope that can help you guys out a bit.

Tbh it's search engines not catching up with us with all our older content. The new site is run by different software to the old one and the URL's are structured differently so older links may not be recognised and divert you to the homepage by default. I hope in time this will sort itself out but from our point of view there is very little we can do about it.

But thanks for the fast answer and at least i'm not the only one having the same thing.
On a lighter note those peeps selling stuff seem to have those links working just fine!!
