Question: About rear brakes

Hi!
I've been trying to search this forum on my ''problem'' but I haven't been able to find it. I have Golf mk1 in which I've put 1.9 TDI (90hp so far). I have found on this forum that it's not that hard to upgrade front brakes (with Vectra and Calibra parts) but I've also found that it's quite hard to converse rear brakes drums with discs. So my question is should I save myself of trouble and leave drums or will it be wise to go through all trouble and put discs since the car is gonna be faster than original 1,6D? If yes can I find somewhere exactly how to converse them, like in steps for newbies?

For disc conversion I guess it's just the stub axles that have to be changed, but guessing!
That said a lot of people will say don't bother. The front brakes do most of the braking so spend your money on decent discs and pads up front and ensure it's all in good order.
If you're doing 70mph with either engine the brakes will seem the same so I think bigger brakes are overrated a little for road use unless you drive like a nutter everywhere!

Well if it's just about stub axles than it shouldn't be that much of a problem. But yeah I was planing on buying decent front discs no doubt!

Hi freaaaky! The good news for you most of the parts are bolt on except the brake hoses if you want to do a clear job.

Wooaah!! Thank you sooo much! I think I will manage to do everything from the description in that link! I will get my salary next week so I will try this for sure! I'll post here if I succeed. Thank you agan
