5 Speed gear linkage
Hi I have a Golf GT. hatch brought back from SA. Due to circumstances had to fit a five speed box. Although I changed the linkage to accommodate the fifth gear I am still using the original 4 speed linkage. I can only find all the gears with the ball out of the socket. So you can imagine the gear shift is very sloppy. Do I have to change the entire linkage, change the gear shift remote or change the tower from a 4 to a five speed. Is there anyone who has experienced this problem or is there a person who can give a definitive answer. Regard Wynne Thomas (Stone-cutter)

You have to use a 5th speed gear box linkage kit.
