As the title, I am putting a mk2 compensator on my caddy as it failed mot with out. And before you say yes I got sucked into what I heard on the internet š’~,
so i am just checking this is the right ports and spring angle. The pic is upside down as to see the ports. I have seen that a few people have done this so I am checking I am doing it right and if anyone has done this before I would appreciate any tips and things to look out for

I have no idea if a Mk1 Caddy had a compensator from new but if it did, and you removed it, I can understand why it failed without (rears locking and no front??)
Didn't rubjonny write up a "how to fit a Mk2 compensator to a Mk1", maybe it can be adapted for caddy.

Of couse with a bit of engineering it can be done but, on the tintop it works by pulling down on the lever (with a spring to act as a damper i believe) whereas the beam on the caddy obviously only push,s up, not pulls down. Also there is a ratio of suspension movement versus amount of pull. For instance 3 inch,s of suspension movement equals maybe 1/2 inch of pull on compensator,

Ok so it would need to be either flipped or angled so the beam would pull up the lever, with some kind of bracket. Sounds easy enough to fabricate would just have to get the angle right. I'll have a look tomorrow and see if it will work. Thanks for the advice

I think it was part of his build thread - I've seen it, but I don't think it was a dedicated how-to.
