Can I fit a master cylinder with just 4 outlets to my mk1 GTI ? I was going to put the brake light switch on the pedal instead.
Thanks

Yes you can, later cars and cabriolets used a brake pedal switch.

The Cabriolets also had the proportional valves for the rear brake shoes/wheel cylinders on the MC on opposite corners.

83 gti they could be on the fender passenger side or next to the rear axle as they are possibly weight controlled.
I have a 93 Cabriolet they are on the MC.

Mine has a valve near the rear beam where the rear brake pipes go into, then out to each wheel. Is this it?

Still not sorted this but getting closer. There are 2 sizes of master cylinder for the cabriolet according to VW heritage, 22.2mm or 20.6mm. Any ideas on which will fit my servo and brake system please?

Master cylinder question
these are the valves fitted to the master cylinder as per later cabbie set up . 22mm m/c are for the larger servo upgrade
