Anyone one know a reasonably priced shock that I can use as donor strut for Koni inserts?
I was thinking of these:

I have heard some horror stories about TA Technix though, albeit relating to coilovers.

As I understand the strut housings are getting rarer than hen's teeth new, and you have to look at breaker parts, and or ebay or other forums to find them.

There is a Bilstein one which seems to have a different part number to the B4. I imagine it's good quality, but they are £100 each.

With all the coil over kits being fitted to mk 1s there should be loads of old casings sitting around. CQ offers or at least did offer blasted and powder coated casings, but i dont know if thats on an exchange basis…

Anyone know if a Koni insert will go in a B4? They seem to taper at the top.
