Are you changing the push rod seal and the brass push rod bush as well?

Ignore the bolt as that's what I used to pull out the brass bush, Cut a thread in the old bush, screwed the bolt in and turned the nut to pull the bush out..

When doing flat seals I get them started, then use a flat fender washer (hole large enough) to press the seal to the correct depth…. all is subjective as to how deep the original was and with the modern age taking photos is the easiest way I know of to document your before to after.
