HAND BRAKE HELP

Hello guys, got a few issues to sort before the mot, basically the hand brake doesn't hold, I tightened the nuts on the cable from the hand brake leaver, but still nothing, last time I checked shoes looked ok, is there any other things I can have a look at that may cause the hand brake nit to hold its mainly on the hill when I park it on the hill it slowly moves its way down, which isn't good, all help.appriciated in advance,

Probably needs more adjustment - it can be made to be very good, if its adjusted all the way up (and still be free when off).

If this doesn't do it, then you're into removing the drum to do a manual adjustment. In theory there is an auto adjusting wedge but in practice they tend not to click down, so need manual adjusting. If your drums are worn you'll need to also remove the lip from the drum eg with a Dremel otherwise once adjusted you can't get the drum back on. And if you do force it on, you'll probably never get it off again!

There's loads of pics of brake drum stuff but I don't know where they are or how to find them. I think I put some on about 9 years ago somewhere?
