All good so far, engine sweet, no rattles, squeeks or horrible noises.
But I'm perplexed. I bought a decentish set of coilies with adjustable dampening and for a change (actually 'cos I'm old and fed up of bouncing around!) I thought I'd be a good boy and wind them up so it'd be comfier.
Problem is to avoid the curse of the reverse rake I need to wind the rears up lots. The helper springs are now compressed to nothing and the rear end is very bouncy! I would expect a bouncy ride with them slammed but not when winding them up.
The really odd thing is that the fronts are quite a way down and the helpers are only slightly compressed! I don't want to go lower at the front really as jacking it up is already a pain.
Is it possible to buy just springs for the rear shocks? Or am I doing something very basically stupid ? Ta

Yes, and Yes.
Germanautoparts.com in the US has the springs listed.
As the weight load is determined by the paint dots on the springs, but I guess that they are only making one type now.
Poly Bushes are stiffer, so if your Coil overs have Poly, they will be more jarring to the SOTP feel. (Seat of the pants)
If you raise the coils so that you are Stretching the springs, they can become load bound, that is that you have adjusted them beyond the length that they are supposed to be and that you have taken all the give out of them so they become un-flexible or stiff.
So that you have no more give, and they are actually longer than the strut rods travel.
What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?
They all start with GOOD Grounds.
Where are my DIY Links?

That's pretty much what has happened I think,, the springs are now so loaded they have lost the little bit of give for smaller bumps.
Wonder if you can get springs in the UK? Must be able too……..
