5th gear hitting manifold

Hi
cant workout why now I have fitted my engine without any changes other than new engine bushes and a gear linkage bush replacememt, that I now cannot engage 5th as the rod is hitting the manifold!
Amy ideas?

On the linkages did you get the 5spd linkages or the 4….
There is a difference in the linkages and if they aren't correct there is shift engagement issues.

Update:
It's a 5 speed linkage
Still hits the manifold!
Now thinking of benting the manifold, unless any other ideas?
