5 speed gear selector lever length

Does anyone know or can measure the length of there 5 speed gear selector lever so that I can extend my 4 speed one. 4 and 5 speed lever pictured below. 5 speed is the longer of the two. Thanks

I can remember doing this swap in the early 90's, and I got the same buggered gears.  In my haste (prior to Al Gored's) invention of the interweb, there wasn't a whole lot of information… The selector is about about 2 inches longer IIRC and I had to swap that as well as the linkages.

VW Caddy, is known to me as Missinglinkz I used his short shifter kit, which looks alot like his selector extension for the short shifter…

Hope it clarifies the issue as there is also a side by side shot of the selector lever with the ball differences.
