Leeking fuel from Carburettor intake brass pipe
Hi, I have recently become the happy owner of a 1981 Mk1 Golf
Whilst replacing the fuel pump, the brass pipe from the carburettor came loose. I pushed it back in but after having started the engine I realised fuel was leaking down the carburettor body. The carburettor is a Solex 31 PIC 7 where the fuel inlet pipe is at an angle to the carburettor housing.
Can anyone with experience on the matter offer me some guidance on how to repair this problem. I'm guessing there ought to be a seal to lock the brass pipe into the carburettor body. But I may be very wrong!
Also my Haynes manual only shows an exploded diagram for an older version carburettor. Could someone who has the diagram of the Solex 31 PIC 7 post it?
Many thanks

Tried attaching a picture but not entirely sure if I managed. In any case, here's a link to the photo:

Get a pic up bud and I'll do my best but sounds like the brass pipe has worn as it should be a tight fit and need tapping in but put a pic up and it might help

Come on buddies! Give me a helping hand here! Please!
I have the bad feeling that the brass (if it's brass at all) thing may be broken but it doesn't look like it.
I will appreciate any help I can get.

Take the top of the carb 5 screws and See and a few cables and see if it's broken of in side then I'd see about getting a new bit of brass or stainless that's the appropriate size to be a good tight fit than cover it in lock tight and tap it in I think it's the return isn't it so not under any pressure or failing that take it to an engineering shop in sure they will be able to sort you out or get a second hand one how that for a few options check ebay or put a wanted ad up but it's fixable so don't worrie hope this helps
