Throttle body stripping.

I’m away from my golf for a few weeks so brought some parts to play with.
I’ve got an Audi big throttle body to install on my 8v DX. Just cleaning it and grinding the manifold ready for it.

Do I still need the bottom parts of the Audi throttle body for the 8v conversion?  
The switch and plunger parts in the bottom pics. Can the be removed while it’s all off?
