On some of the Pieces and parts over here, the Manifold or header companies send a tail piece that is mated and should be welded on to the exhaust pipe, most of the ones that I have Purchased as in Raceland Cat Delete, Pacesetter header, don't require a gasket if the proper included tail piece is used. The Spring loaded screws Keep it Tight and allow some Vibration as well as Expansion and contraction of the connection to prevent the header or down pipe from breaking.
From your picture it doesn't look like the down pipe was a mate to the pipe behind it, because of the flare to Flat connection.
It may be that the POS (previous owners serviceability) came up with a Generic Gasket. If you know the diameter of the Flange, and the Diameter of the piece on the back you can find a Generic Gasket at a parts store near you.
What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?
They all start with GOOD Grounds.
