Bug back in the day. 2 were cracked so bad that I couldn't pass emmissions.
I opted on my Digis to go the G60 and 4-2-1 dual piped manifold, and a dual down pipe, First one was pricey, but the return in SOTP feel as 200 hp boost.
I made a Dual Down for my second one that worked well.
I bought a RACELAND header assembly to replace it but never got around to it.
The Forward silencer on the system isn't a silencer it is
a Pneumatic Hammer arrester (resonator) it stops the hammering effect of the exhausts. but doesn't interfere with the flow as when intact it is a sealed pipe that is surrounded by a Sealed Metal jacket. I never took them off as I liked quiet.
The Catalytic pervertor was a round or flat object of disdain that was before the Shifter box and right after the Down pipe 90 bend before heading to the rear.
So you had a manifold, down pipe, Catalytic convertor, resonator, then Silencer.
If you go with a header or a dual down affair, do not forget to include a flex connection between the down pipe and the back run. It stops the headers from Cracking after a bit from torque shift and the pipe from rattling against the chassis with engine flex.
I did once find a Stainless Toilet bowl flange listed, can't remember where, but it was almost as much as the Stainless Raceland that I bought.
What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?
They all start with GOOD Grounds.
Where are my DIY Links?

Is it possible the resonator can go bad over time? I swapped and the rebuilt it all, which was a pain in the backside getting it all lined up without pressing against the body etc but there does seem to be a bit of noise coming from it like it isnt dampening the hammer effect enough. It was all sealed as i fitted it so its not leaking but just seems a bit noisy.
Also the rubber hanger is under more strain that it should be, its hanging quite low under the car but cant see how id adjust to but still have all the exhaust lined up correctly. Has new hangers fitted on the back box too
