Best, effective and safest way to remove old fuel from the tank?
My ongoing fuel issue has led me to to try and remove the old fuel, around a quarter of a tank and then replace with new. Apart from the obvious syphoning with a piece of garden hose pipe and me sucking it out, which I don’t really fancy, what’s the best way to safely remove the fuel?

what year of car makes a wee bit of difference, as some have in-tank pumps and you jumper that to 12V and let it pump out to a catch pan.

86 with an in tank pump too. Ahh so 12v wire to the pump under the rear seat, then a length of pipe from one of the spigots on pump head into the pan ? That sounds too straight forward

Well it is that simple.
Here is the typical fuel pump from teh in-tank.
The right outlet port is the pump out.
