Pressure test kit

Pressure test kit from VW is coming up as around £1k so will knock up a kit myself with a 10bar gauge. Has anyone made one and know the correct sizes of the unions and fitting etc?
Will get some swagelock fittings etc but mainly its the specifics of the gauge as its using fuel instead of air etc.

Any info will be appreciated.

1K pounds… w0w is that made of gold plated parts and well Gassers need to be about 100psi as the normal working presure of a CIS is 75psi, carbed is about 20 or less and Digi is less than 50.

I have made a gauge for pressure on my Digi, using a gauge that I had laying about for a/c use it worked well when I got it plumbed in.

If you are talking about compression then you need one that is about 150 for gassers, and 500 for diesels.  I have both.

Let me know what it's like if you buy it as I keep meaning to get one myself! 

I bought all the bits to make one up myself -  buy a hydraulic guage, and not a pneumatic one. Guage, t-piece, tap are all 1/4 NPT. Use barbed hose fittings (1/4 NPT) and barbed banjo's and away you go.

Managed to make a kit up at work with some swagelock fittings and a Budenburg gauge and set it up and calibrated it.
The only bits i didnt have available were the 1/4'" NPT male and female unions for on the distributor and the WUR line. Im fitting them to some 6mm plastic pipe hopefully but havent found anything easily available on the net yet.
Only confusion i have is that i read they were M12x1.5, but also 1/4" NTP. Same exact size?

You could use banjo unions and remove the WUR to metering pipe completly.

That is true, and then just connect directly to the WUR.
Only issue is then i have to replace the pipe ive made up and get a fuel hose with a banjo bolt on it and then id still need a union to connect to the distributor from my 6mm pipe

I'm using 6mm ID rubber hose with barbed fittings. I've got a perfect connector to the metering head, but the one to the end of the proper pipe I'm not so sure about so bought a M10 banjo just in case I have to go straight to the wur. It shouldn't be this hard should it!

Your absolutely right pal, its should be simple and easy with easily available fittings. Ive ordered a part from RS catalogue which ive read should cover both ends that need connecting but that will soon be seen if its true or not.

I read that its metric bolts (M12x1.5) with imperial pipe fittings 1/4 NTP which is why its an absolute pain. If this fitting for 6mm tubing work then i will post it back here and share it.

How on earth did i not find that post with all the searching i did?! Lol i managed to connect up a set. Had to go to a hydraulics place for them to whip up the pipe and fittings. The fittings to connect to the system were easy for them to source as they had the best way of fitting them to ptfe pipe
