New lifter pump makes whining noise when cold. Should I be worried?

Post

About a month ago my lifter pump over heated. I replaced it but now the new one makes a whining noise when the car is cold.

Is this a concern? Performance doesnt seem to be affected.

I guess it depends how loud the noise is. It's not unusual for them to make some noise.

If it aint broke…..

The part will be covered by warranty so just see how you go with it

I found the pattern lifter pump made a fair bit more racket than the genuine one it replaced, eventually i put the old one back in (was just a check to see fi the lifter was the cause of my issues, and it wasnt)
