new exhaust front pipe

Hi there people, I've just bought a new front pipe for my car, I have 87 1.6 carb cabby, it's got a gti exhaust on though so I have the one with 6 bolts and no c clamps. do I have to change over the springy bits onto the new front pipe or are they on the manifold? If so is it an easy job? Thanks for any advice
