Hi All,
Only installed it last August but it`s failed.
It was a Meyles pump from VhHeritage on my 1990 1.8 Carburettor (Karman Clipper).
Is it just bad luck or should i look for a better quality pump?
Any recommendations?
Thanks.

Might be worth speaking to VW heritage as it might still be in a guarantee.
Any branded new part should last longer than 7 months…

Have you got the dreaded rotten fuel filler pipe and crraapp in the tank either blocking the fuel lines and/or over working the pump into an early death?

Hi there,
Yes fuel tank removed, checked, cleaned and re-fitted. Fuel lines replaced right up to fuel pump.
If i suck the fuel lines, i`m getting a nice big delicious mouthful of expensive unleaded.
Fuel filters spotlessly clean etc.
Maybe i just got unlucky.

I`ve done a little research and Quinton Hazell seem to be the best option.
Very little more expensive but i`m happy to see how it goes.

You also have to remember that new to you parts aren't necessarily new, they could of been sitting on the shelf for years , and the internal diaphragm may have dry rotted, as well as the diaphragm may not be rated for the "E-10 E-15" rated fuels.
