Settling In
the union of the braided hose and fuel line
I need to change the braided hose but am unable to split the union , have tried WD etc , fuel line is in VGC so do not want to damage , any ideas as to how to free ??Colin , (east devon )

is it actual WD40 you have tried? A lot of people don't rate it. I use the penetrating spray from Toolstation, which is pretty good, or GT85. I know some people swear by PlusGas as the best one. Suggest you give it a good spray daily for 3-4 days, then leave it a day or two and give it another go. Not sure what size you need, but a brake spanner is good tool for hose unions, like this: Laser 2605 Brake Spanner 11mm Hex x 13mm Hex : Amazon.co.uk: DIY & Tools

I agree with leeO, WD40 is rubbish for freeing things. You can also get some crows feet spanners in a set which are good for brake lines as well as they can be used in tight spaces. These things grip the nut/bolt better than a open ended spanner as they grip more faces.
1st set I found so check the sizes are right and there may be others out there.
