Car not starting - No fuel from injectors

I'm having some trouble with my mk1 and was hoping to get alittle help as I'm out of ideas! until recently it was starting on the button no trouble, however since last week its no longer starting unless I fire some easy-start into the inlet.
Initial troubleshooting:
1) Fuel pump priming OK when ignition is on
2) Fuel line to Fuel filter loosened = fuel leaking out under pressure
3) Fuel filter > Fuel distribution block loosened = fuel leaking out under pressure
** By this stage I assume all is well until the fuel distribution block **
Since the injectors are no squirting out any fuel (checked by removing them and place them in bottles and cranked), I loosened off the injector feed from the distribution block themselves and I get no fuel...
After about of searching on here I read that the injectors won't fire until certain pressure is achieved (5/6 bar?), however does the fuel leaving the distribution block need to be 5/6 bar or should I be seeing something whilst cranking?
Thanks in advance!

After looking on various posts on here it appears the reason why the plate in the metering head would not lift while cranking is most likely due to a vacuum leak so tomorrow evening I'll be double checking all hoses..etc
Any common pipes/areas I should focus on?

Have a read thru this thread, ignore the fancy 16v sections and just concentrate on the basic kjet parts, 5th injector well worth a look as well as air leaks though
