Hello all,
Quick question for curiousitys sake.
1.8 GTi head with air shroud injectors, can you block the air shroud inlet pipe and replace air shroud injectors, with conventional earlier style?
Trying to determine if that will have any effect on how he car idles/ runs.
I seemingly have something not quite right with mine, trying to rule it in or out.
Cheers
Adam.

I know you can change them over, and yes you have to plug the port off VW's hate vacuum leaks.
there is a wealth of info on CIS at Fuel System

The air shroud injectors system does not have a lot of different to the running of the engine so I would be looking at my injectors and pulling them out and testing fuel flow and spray patterns to check they are 100% before blocking up the air flow.
Check for air leaks and how old is the fuel and what type of petrol, super or normal unleaded?

Air shroud injectors
Thanks both for the replies.
Injectors are new, brass/ mercedes type. Whole system is new near enough
Fuel also new, shell's finest 99 vpower. Car has had a long hiatus and has only really just been put back together, hence the obsessive checking/spraying/ vaccum leak looking
I think I've narrowed it down to the throttle body itself, sprayed carb cleaner directly on top of it and there was a rise in rpm .. fortunately I've a spare, I've not messed with!
Once again thanks for the pointers chaps, much appreciated
