Needs some info about the first 7 seconds on a cold start with a 1.8 EX 2E2 carbureted engine
What I do now on start up:
- Turn the ignition key - don't start yet
- Push the gas pedal down for about 3 seconds
- Release the gas pedal
- Start the engine
- Starts up instantly
BUT:
If I don't keep up the revs the first 7 seconds it only idles around 500 RPM
7 seconds later it gets up to 900 RPM and everything is fine
Drives very nice through all gears - in traffic - on the highway - shifting down to a standstill etc.
My question:
Those seven seconds to my understanding is set by the heated electrical choke part in the choke housing and is just a matter of turning the complete choke housing when the engine is cold to set it up to a higher first seven seconds start up when cold 1200 RPM
Is my solution correct ?
If so what direction do I have to turn the housing to INCREASE the RPM ?
Clockwise or anti-clockwise ?
