When the car was standard there was a problem with fuel delivery meaning that when I cornered hard the engine would misfire. I know people have used standard gti fuel systems on modified engines but seeing as though the swirl pot in my tank is probably no good anymore I thought I'd upgrade.
I was thinking of using a late cabrio style system like this;

By the looks of this diagram the swirl pot, pump and accumulator all fit underneath the car near the tank. Is it possible to fit all of this under the car on a standard gti with a carb tank and cabrio fuel sender? Instead of the accumulator I'd mount a fuel filter in its place.

on the late cab the swirl pot goes where the tintop accumulator goes, and the accumulator is smaller and squeezed next to the tank. so you may have to fit the filter in the bay if there is no room same as a factory cabrio
