Wiring loom

Hey guys had a electrician come look at my caddy today got the rear lights working but when we started on the front we realised that the dash loom has burnt out.

If I was to get a wiring loom from a 1.8 gti and fitted this along with the dash panel/clocks would this work on my 1.6 carbed caddy
