Hi,
I need to replace the coil. My car was originally a 1.1 but now has 1.5 jb engine fitted and I would like to know do I need a coil with a built in ballast resistor?
Thanks

It's been years since I had to check which coil I had but if you have a Haynes manual there's a test you can do with a multi meter to check the voltage.
I think there's also a purple wire somewhere near the coil and if you have it then it's a ballast resistor type.
I'm not 100% so maybe some wizz with electrics can help…?
I had to check with type I had when switching from contact points to electric ignition.

Which Ignition coil
After some more checks I believe my vehicle needs a ignition coil designed for use with a ballast resistor although I can't find a resistor or resistor wire on my vehicle. Im thinking of fitting my own in-line ballast resistor but I'm insure what ohm rating resistor I need to fit. Any help would be appreciated
