Can I use the oil temp sensor on the front of the oil cooler housing (the one with the green wire) for the sender for a VDO 60 - 170 degree Oil temp gauge or will I need a separate one completely? My idea was I could have both the existing wiring and the VDO wiring together on the same sensor keeping things neater. Is this possible?

Adding something in parallel isn't the answer and your temps for both will be off.
Ohm wrote the law, don't blame me ya just can't break it.

Ahh, so I'll need to add another sensor for the VDO separate to that one?
Would this one be the one I need?

I know I may not get a reply to this as it's nearly 5 years old. But I'm in the same situation and need to run a temp wire to the vdo but where from? The filter housing is taken up with the pressure gauge…. Should I use the sump plug?
Just wondering what alternative port you used

I used a T split piece under the pressure sensor in the end, I can try and get a photo if you need it.

If you could, that would be really helpful. Thank you for the reply

Not the greatest photo, struggled to get a good angle now its complete, but you can just make out the temp sensor on the back of the T piece.
