So, the standard h4 bulbs on my golf are dim. I've ordered a headlight loom kit to improve the voltage. However, the car also came with some led bulbs with fans but in for cooling. These seem a lot brighter than the standard bulbs, but not sure how legal they are.
Should I take the standard bulbs + new loom, led bulbs + existing loom, or go mad and use led bulbs with the new loom?
Honestly not sure which is best for safety/visibility and not getting the ire of the police!

I’d say try the upgraded loom and get some decent H4 bulbs such as osram nightbreakers and see how it is-that’s as good as the standard lights can be.
As you say, LED’s weren’t legal for MoT, although some of the newer technologies might be?

You can make your own loom, or get one off of ebay.
