Agree with you there…
Don't show your local council this picture or you will get a parking ticket for being on double yellows near a crossing…

So what is wrong with the Electrics?  Or did you get a smallish shock from sunny driving in the UK?

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

Hi brian nothing wrong really just a bit of a rattle from the alternator. The thing is its a 1990 28 years old and a lot of the parts look original or at least very old so ive set about systematically replacing them to get the car and specifically the engine bay looking a bit tidier .and so far the more ive done the better it has run .
So far
New plugs
New leads
New air filter
New fuel filter
New oil filter
New rotor arm
New dizzy cap
New solid resin viper ignition coil
Engine flush new vw oil
New radiator
Coolant flush new anti freeze/coolant
gonna put a new alternator water pump etc im having the cam belt done in the next week or so …
Then gonna move on to tuning etc ….
Its a nice project for me especially in the sun .
Also had a full day with the roof of yesterday and got burnt head and neck and arms 😎
Cant believe how much sun you get in a clipper …

Two worst cases of Sunburn I ever got, was 1 Sailing in races, and the sunscreen which said water proof wasn't.
I looked like a Lobster, and had to go to hospital and get Demerol shot for pain……

Second was driving topless all day in my MG with Shorts and a Athletic-t…. I burned through the T, and below my knees where white as snow save for my eyes that made me look like an albino Raccoon.

Love driving topless, but I carry spf 2000…in the glove box.

First time out in the sun, my wife's first run in the Golf, and she likes it more than my Mk1 Escort!
You can see the haze over the Lune Estuary in the background, but if I looked left I could see Blackpool Tower clearly.

Don't forget the gearbox oil, very often forgotten about, I change mine every 4 years or 40,000 miles and I'm now using fully synthetic oil.

2 bottle is plenty, check you can undo the filler plug before removing the drain plug.

Guide here.

You can buy a 17mm tool if you don't have a big 17mm Allen key.
