Hi, I've had a headache day of fixing electrics. When we fitted a recon engine in the Golf we used the loom that came with it (turned out to be a bad idea) all the oil pressure wiring was a different way round to the original loom causing the oil light to constantly flash and no oil temp to the MFA after lots of hair pulling that is now sorted, now there is no reverse light.
The switch on the gearbox is this (6 pin)
and the plug from the engine loom is this (4 pin)
Which way is the best way to change the plug wires to fit the switch
There are 8 slots in the plug to change the spade terminals. The switch works, reverse light and wiring is all working. The golf has MFA. Todays wiring issue fried my brains and I just cant find the info I'm looking for.
Thanks Kerry

Problem solved
Turns out the switch didn't work as well as I thought, it put reverse lights on when coming out of reverse, dismantled the switch, cleaned the contacts and now its all working. Switched the black and the brown to a different position in the plug. I have reverse lights yay.
