Any idea on compatibility of Motometer and VDO

Hi, have the dreaded flashing oil light and constant buzzer fault on my 83 gti clocks- all MFA functions ok. All tests completed to sensors and wiring checked so bought a set of clocks off ebay, fault now gone and oil light on till started and off when running. Problem is these clocks are in a very poor state and not much else works. So this is where I stand now, got my golf clocks and a set of scirocco clocks stripped on the table but they are motometer and vdo. Does anybody know if they are compatible or if I could damage something if I try the L shaped pcb and rebuild my clocks. Otherwise it means taking my second set of clocks out and stripping another set. I know this is a common job from searching for fault cure so hoping somebody can advise me. Thanks Alan

Asked this as the 'L' shaped pcb's looked different( layout of resistors and capacitors), but went ahead and fitted today and all good. So it would seem a board from any similar era VW should work if you have a set of clocks laying around.:)
