looks liek it goes to the aux air valve, wee box attached to the turret on driver side with some vac pipework to it. if you dont have one then dont worry about it, this was only on later kjet cars. if it is for this valve then you will have a relay above the fusebox that makes it work

Fuse box is a bit of a mess and I try to avoid looking at it at the moment! I have the aux air valve behind the inlet manifold which has a connection…
Next up and my main concern is this:

Under the coolant tank, yellow/white and brown. Looks important!
Then this one:

Green plug with black/yellow and white? Exits roughly around the brake master cylinder area.
The last unaccounted for plug was this one, white and black, which looks like it fits here:

?????????????????????????????????
Finally, the distributor has a spade connector on one side, but I dont seem to have a spare plug/connector for it….???????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont mean not the aux air valve, its another metal box shaped one fitted to later cars. its pinched off models with aircon/auto box, I guess VW found that later models with more electrical load sometimes needed some more help.
front fogs
throttle switch
cold throttle enrichment valve, you have it in the right place
the valve also needs a vacuum pipe to the end to work properly plumbed into the inlet somewhere off one of the brake servo hose nipples. its there to give a spray of fuel via 5th injector if you boot it on a cold engine
dizzy spade is probably for the earth shroud, its there to help reduce radio interference. many dont have it and it doesn't seem to really make any difference anyway

That's a huge help cheers!
I'm guessing that it doesn't need the additional air thingy then? and that these 2 connections are probably connected to said air thingy and can just be blocked off?

Throttle switch - it doesn't have one. Which I think is ok..?! It's a DX k-jet btw.
And I had a spare small bore vacuum line coming off the brake servo side of the inlet manifold which I wondered what to do with, so I guess I've found a home for it now!

Picture of where the throttle enrichment valve runs to, you can see the yellow pipe.

you can see in this picture the air pipe which fits to the back of the head between cyinders 3 and 4, it's for the fuel injectors to add air to them, air shroud injectors.

Hmmm, interesting! I have the throttle enrichment pipe correct which is good (connected since the below photo was taken), but my airbox to inlet manifold duct does not have the extra connection for the air pipe from between cylinders 3&4. And as mentioned previously, I dont have a throttle switch either, so I will guess that its a slightly different set up..?

you have a mix of early and late parts, without the throttle switch the cold throttle enrichment valve wont do anything so you can ignore it. either leave it as is with no vacuum line or just bin it entirely. a step further would be to remove the wiring for it and all of the stuff for the idle box on the strut tower if thats missing too
the nipple on the head is for the later air shrouded injectors, if you got nothing to go into it you can just cap it off as it doesnt really do a great deal.

Great, thanks for the guidance. Basically, if it doesn't do anything, block it off!
