Ignition lead fitting issue

Hello!
I decided to replace my ignition leads, nice easy swop I thought, to get rid of the old knackered ones. The problem I'm having is what I believe to be the difference early fitment and the later fitment. I've bought a new distributor cap sorted that bit but then realised the ignition coil was the same . Do I need a new one so it will fit or car I just replace the cap on it??

Are you have trouble with the pins being a lot thinner on the dizzy cap and coil than the female ends on the leads.

Not 100% what the difference is to be honest. They don't go on all the way as they hit a pin in the middle…

I don't at the minute but I can get some tomorrow… I managed to sort the distributor cap by buying a new one just wasn't sure if the ignition coil could be adapted or altered…

if therte is a pin inside the coil hole, send the leads n cap back and get the correct post-84 fitment stuff.

Righto will do! How do I know what brand distributor I have? Will it be written on somewhere?

most likely be bosch, will be written on the side somewhere or on mine i checke the plastic dust cap under the cap and found a bosch logo
