Hydraulic roof pump suddenly stopped working

I went for a drive today and put the roof down - it worked fine. But when I got home and tried to put the roof back up it didnt work. It appears the pump is just not working.
First I checked the fluid levels which appear fine and there is no sign of leakage.
Then I checked the relays (in the boot near the pump its self). I saw there were 3. I could hear the one closest the rear of the car clicking when the 'down' button was pushed and the middle one clicking when the 'up' button was pushed. The 3rd relay closest to the front of the car appeared to do nothing.
I unplugged the pump and hooked up a multimeter and got about 9.5V when my girlfriend pushed the switch.
I also gave the pump a few taps with a rubber mallet as someone here suggested.
Has my pump just quit? It was behaving fine this morning and now all of a sudden wont budge.
Is there a fuse somewhere for it (does it share a fuse with another component)? Not that that's problem if its still getting power to the pump.
Has this 3rd relay got anything to do with it?
Any advice is appreciated!

Can be a few things.
There is a main fuse and a thermo self resetting fuse located on a seperate holder above the fusebox.
You'd need to look them up in your handbook.
Unlikely fluid level, but make sure you check that level roof down. It reads low when up.
If you think switch is duff if you have leccy wndows you can swap one of the switches over.

Have you cleaned the relay contacts?
Remember though the pump is only supposed to work with the key inserted in the ign barrel.
