Just changed my clocks/instrument cluster. I gave the plug to the clocks a clean and I did get a little spark as I did it. Everything works as it should apart from the headlight switch that smokes. What did I blow while cleaning the plug? Thanks
It's all shits and giggles until someone giggles and shits

if you cleaned the clock plug ignition off then you probably blew the clock fuse #3 if ce1 fusebox, 7 if early ceramic fusebox.
it shouldn't make the headlight switch smoke though, that sounds liek you have a short in the harness some where, which wire is it thats smoking

Warning, when playing around with connections and electrics, never ever do it with the battery connected.
They used a metal scraper to clean connections, (erasers do better).
Snagged wire on the headlight switched.
