Fitting front speakers to Golf C...ummm...where?

Hello,

So I bought some 6x9 front speakers which I found referenced in another topic on here, thinking they would fit into the front doors of my golf C. I've taken the door cards off, and where Im assuming the speaker goes, the winding mechnism for the windows gets in the way?… Also there aren't any hole in the door frames at the right places to screw the speakers into?

Am I missing something fundamental here?…

No they normall fasten into the speaker pods on the door pocket and just poke out into the hole recess in the door panel.

in which case this endeavor has gone badly....lol. So, I need to get my hands on some door cards with speaker pockets!...sure those are easy to come by...

I think the speaker door pockets just fasten onto the door card, then you cut a hole in the card. Might be worth someone checking the sizes of the standard speakers for you, I don't have them in mine anymore as don't have a radio in.

I'm fairly sure I've got the right size, as it was on another thread here on the forum.

I didn't realize that the door pockets could just be screwed onto the existing door cards! This is good news Thanks

Your first post says you have got 6x9 speakers which I thought were too big googling up they should be 6x4 for the early door pockets , but notice on your box it says they are 6x4.

Here is a picture of the reverse of the door card showing how the door pocket and speaker pod attach.

legend, thanks mate! I'll have a look at the reverse side just to make sure and I'll grab some door pockets somewhere! And you're right, I believe I meant 6x4
