Just wondering if anyone could help. The alternator isnt kicking in when I start the engine until I connect the small blue wire to the battery to kick it in… I'm guessing it's a problem with the bulb on the dash not kicking the alternator in… is there a thread on how to sort this problem? I'm sure someone would of had this problem before
cheers in advance

It doesn't kick in, it runs off the v belt whilst engine is turning. You getting charge to your battery?

Yes I know it runs off the v belt but the alternator isnt being energised by 12v to make it charge the battery… ie kicking in…
It doesn't charge until I put a cable from the small wire on the alternator to the battery

MOTY 2013

so the battery light isnt on with the ignition? if not its the blue wire to the fusebox, clock wiring or the bulb at fault. check the plug pins are all good on the clocks though can get bent out of shape.,
the wire to alternator is ok if shorting it to battery live gets it going. to get you motoring short term put the alternator wire to a handy ignition live, then look at why the dash light isnt working
