Sounds very reasonable. And maybe easier to replace the floors when the new sills are in place. I've been following a guy called Dan Chambers on Youtube and he constructed and welded in what seems to be a sturdy cage inside the car before going through the same process. My plan is to do the same, and it will hopefully help with the integrity as well.
I just need to figure out how to make sure the integrity is right before welding it in. At the moment the rear of my care is actually strapped to the roof in my garage as the jacking points and floor is in very bad shape.
To make everything worse I actually need to replace the roof as well, but that's another story
