Seat fittings

Hi all,

I'm a complete noob to MK1s and the forum.

One of my front seats slides off (only with the lever lifted). Is there supposed to be a bolt that goes through (1)? Any idea where to get one? Also, what is (2)?

The seat also moves up and down at one side. Is there something that is supposed to go in the guide?

Finally… Any idea what this screw is?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

The screw in the carpet looks like an after market carpet mat fixing screw, usually screws into the carpet and the mat clips on top of the button, if your mats don’t have a fixing hole in them then you could unscrew the screw and just leave the small hole left in the carpet

Interesting… I'll take a look under the mats tomorrow. Thanks.

clean out all the garbage in the inner and outer rails and lightly coat the upper and lower rails with a grease….(lightly)….I use marine grade blue goo grease…

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?
