Can you just knock the pin out and fit the hinge type you want?

Yeah it might work. Would need to try. Just wanted to get some feedback from others experience before starting myself to try.

Anyone know which VW type these two hinges origins from?

Both of my mk1's have hinges with a single bolt on the door, both cars are tintops.

It's just the difference between early and late cars I think.

When in doubt Grind it out.  :)I would swap the hinges over if the fitment is good.
that is press the hinge pin, (you can get new ones)
and have a go.

Before the door is off the car, check the fitment and if you have door sag you can bend the hinges on the "A" pillar easier with the door off.

As well as checking the door check.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?
