I'm after a bit of advice on how to remove a tow bar from my mk1. I've tried a search and couldn't really find anything. I'm after advice on:
Removal;
Disconnection of electrics;
Making good to car upon removal (grommets?)
Thanks in advance , here's a couple of picture:

Anyway….as far as removal goes, if there's holes which have been drilled then there may be rust due to not making good the paintwork etc, especially looking at how rusty the towbar is. So it would be worth making good here, then a decent fitting grommet.
Electrics - there's lots of ways it could have been done but the 2 logical ways would have been to either use scotchlocks or go onto the terminals at the back of the lights. If they've used scotchlocks then prising them off carefully will not damage the wire beyond the 'cut' through the insulation, so a circle of insulation tape could be added and the wiring would be fine. Terminals would just pull off the light clusters with no issue. But there might be more damage to the wiring, difficult to guess at.

I just put rubber grommets in all the holes after painting around the edges where the thread of the bolt removed the paint.
The wiring was scotchlocked in, I just cut the wires going to the tow bar right next to the scotchlocked blocks and taped over with insulating tape.
