Tin top and cabriolet bonnets

May be a dumb question but are  tintop and cabriolet bonnets exactly the same? 

YES and NO….
The early Golfs had windscreen squirters that poked through the hood vents and were little metal things one each side that poked through the vent holes.

The Cabbies have a hole in between the hood vent slits to situate a single squirter in the middle of the wind screen.

Can you use a Cabby-hood on a Golf?
Yes, but you have to either change from the dual vent squirters to center or patch the hole in the middle and paint.
