Hello,
I have a question, if anybody knows that it's possible that some mk1 had rear doors without a lock as a factory settings? We have one mk1 here that have lock delete, and there is a lever/handle next to the drivers seat with image of rear doors which opens the rear doors. Have anybody an idea if it can be some special edition, or if it's just tuned? And It's a GTD, and on the doors there is a "Wolfsburg edition" sticker.
Thank's a lot for any ideas/experiences.
Jakub

I would look at the rear hatch and open the cover to see if the rear hatch has been modified as in the original lock hole welded over and it was a after market kit….
What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?
They all start with GOOD Grounds.

The original operates the lock from the button solely in the rear hatch.
That operating lever and cable must operate a rear lock that is located in the body of the car. It's like the hatch lock is mounted upside down.
I cannot see the cable going up via the rear hatch hinge connector down to the lock.
Interesting though.
