Italic font GOLFGTI emblem

Hello,

I found italic font version of GOLFGTI emblem through the web.
As far as I know, GOLF is an italic but GTI is not in the original design.

Does someone have any information about this emblem?

It's the earliest mk1 gti badge, one was on sale on eBay for £45 but the auction never completed. 

..and where did you find it? Are they reproductions?

I've been looking for on ebay or other shops around the web, but still nothing could find.
