Anyone had any success dying thier leather seats (or door cards in this case) and if so what did you use?
I have grey leather door cards which have been covered in black vinyl to match my black leather seats but I I would like to remove the vinyl and dye the leather black to match the seats if its feasible.
Cheers

They make analine dyes that are pretty fair, and re-dying the same color or differnt is not to bad, prep is everything. going lighter to darker isn't that much, but it is going from dark to light that there is usually an issue.

I've done some googling and as you say it seems like as with most jobs prep is everything. The grey door cards are OEM so assuming VW used proper leather back in the 80s then that's what I'm working with. Other option is to sell and source some factory black items of anyone needs a full set of leather grey door cards…..
