Front wing aerial hole shape

The hole for the radio aerial in my front passenger wing is square.  Is this normal - I always thought they were round?

mines round and betting on how shoddy that 'rectangle' is thats been cut freehand…. however i maybe wrong

Botch job, if your wing  / paint are still good, two options:

1 weld in new metal, and create new hole if fitting an aerial.

2 if fitting an aerial, clean underneath, glue treated larger metal plate with new hole to underside wing, metal fill top of wing hole. Clear hole, make good and paint as required. Fit aerial. Remember to earth aerial with additional wiring to another part of inner wing.
Hopefully limited amount of original hole will be seen under aerial gasket.

When I took out the Transit-style rubber aerial that was in my tintop and fitted a proper aerial this what the hole looked like.  It's probably the original hole in the original wing…
