COLOUR CODE

Hi i am just about to inherit a mk1 golf cabriolet 1984 in green paint code LB6B from my parents,they have had it from new and it was bought in Germany as my father was in the forces.We believe it could be the only one in the world in this colour,we have contacted VW direct and they have directed us to the VW museum and as yet not had anything back as yet.Just wondering if anyone else out there has the same colour.This car is a one owner genuine never been messed with car with no expence spared to its upkeep only lived out in the elements for 3 years of its life but it is ready for a restoration/respray.     

LB6B paint code is actually  Irish Green 83,  it ran from 84-87…

on www.cabby-info.com Kammy has a registry of VW Cabriolets, and that color isn't in the data base that I searched all the years of the paint code.
 

Thanks for the reply i had some of the info but just wondered if anyone else has a VW in the same colour i have put a picture up of the car.We have been informed that it was a Porsche colour but have yet to find any vw in this colour.this car was a special order for my parents and the car was on the production line when VW went on strike the only time i might add.They were offered a GTI but declined and waited for the car they ordered.

Never seen a Golf in that colour, but here is an 82 911 for sale.

One of the early Wheeler Dealer programmes did a 911 in that Colour.

i have never seen another golf in this colour either that is why we have been in contact with VW. i also have seen the program in which the 911 was featured.The golf cab is about to have a full respray in the original colour with new doors boot lid and seals.just had a new windscreen this year first replacement from new.Next year comes the new seat trim but that will take some sorting as again not seen another like it in another VW.
