I can open my mk1 cabriolet roof fine and it locks in place open. However when it comes to closing it, it takes 2 of us - one either side to push the locks down to release it, then can close it fine. Can't believe that's the only way… there must be a mechanism where 1 person can unlock and close it. Or could end up asking passers by if on my own and starts to rain! Probably super obvious I know son thanks for any help!

Closing cabrio roof problem
Does your hood spring up once released?

Closing cabrio roof problem
Once released the hood should spring up a few inches.
The same if you lower the hood it should only close so far down as the struts take the load.
If the hood just slams down then the struts are shot or as I’ve seen before missing totally.
