Going on a long journey soon, and i am looking for sound deadening for my car. Mostly to lay underneath the back seat and boot. I have been looking on ebay nad got alot of ideas such as dynamat. I was wondering what products others have got and what thickness others have used? Thanks

Roofing tape is more or less the same thing, I've bought both and can't see much difference. I was looking into getting some closed cell foam off ebay and reckon this on top of the roof tape will be more effective than the regular sound deadening

Also the oettinger 16s came from the factory with an additional layer of foam attached to the bottom of the rear boot mat so pretty sure they knew what they were doing

I've just done my whole floor and door skins with evo stick flashband. Hoping to put the carpet / seats back in next weekend, I'll let you know if it's any good.

I've used roadkill in the past and this works just as well. Plus it doesn't cut your hands to shreds like the Roadkill, Brown Bread and Dynamat types. Oh and it's massively cheaper too. Just make sure you get a small wooden roller from the decorating place to roll it tight against the panel.

I reinstalled my carpets and seats this weekend and the flashband has definitely reduced the noise level within the car. Maybe not as much as I hoped but I really didn't know what to expect. It's actually reduced it by about 5db, I know this because I checked the sound levels while driving before and after the flashband was installed with an iphone app. I know it's a bit sad but please don't judge me
i haven't done the boot compartment yet and to be fair a lot of my noise is due the the exhaust mid box rubbing underneath the car which I need to sort somehow!
I hope this helps!

Toolstation was the cheapest place I found it (Toolstation | Low prices on 25,000+ trade quality products). Not sure if there's one near you if not they deliver free if you spend a minimum of £10. I used methylated spirits to clean before applying. If you do it on a warm day it sticks really well. Also get yourself a little wallpaper seam roller to smooth it out while applying.

On the floor? You can still buy those, it's just a rubber buffer, I guess to stop the seat rattling and make it move smoothly

Try
funk-star
for a price first though.
That ebay seller is renowned for selling MK2 parts at massively inflated prices compared to elsewhere. Not sure if this is but it's worth checking
